King Tlo is so eager to enlarge his kingdom that one fine day he decides to swim down the bottom of the ocean. On his way down he meets strange and beautiful creatures who, from the humblest little fish to the Queen of the Oceans, teach him that there is something more important than Reasons of State, Riches and Power.
You want to know what it is? Then follow this adventurous discovery of the ocean depths.
Once upon a time there was a king named Tlo who was very concerned about the size of his kingdom. One day he decided to measure his territory, inch by inch. Armed with a ruler, a set square, a folding rule and a compass, he climbed to the tops of the mountains and went down again to the sea shore, calculating the extent of his possessions. At the end, most unhappily, he had to admit that his kingdom was no bigger than those of his neighbours! | | |
After having thought the matter over and over, he finally hit on a solution. «If the sea drew back a few yards, my kingdom would expand and be bigger in size,» he concluded. But it wasn't easy to make the sea draw back… Tlo thought the matter over and over again until one day, while he was having a bath, a most peculiar idea came to him: «It's most probable that at the bottom of the sea there must be a plug to let the water out, just as there is in the bath tub, and in the wash basin!» he ex-claimed. «I must look for it, pull it out for a few minutes, and lower the level of the water…» Happy as could be with this solution to his problem, he set off for the beach where he dived into the waves. On his way down he meets strange and beautiful creatures who teach him that there is something more important than Reasons of State, Riches and Power.
